The Reducere application creates opioid tapering schedules that follow established standards so that practitioners can confidently transition patients to opioid-free status

Reducere provides. . .

✓ primary care practitioners an accurate reference point to prescribe opioid-dependent patients a proper tapering schedule

✓ confidence in what a safe opioid titration practice looks like

✓ PCPs an accurate, time-saving, and easy to follow tapering schedule that can be shared and stored in the patients EMR

✓ protection against unwanted consequences such as the use of illicit opioids and / or overdose death caused by too rapid of a taper

✓ increased accuracy with time-saving features such as built-in limits on medications with ceiling doses

✓ notifications and safety measures to guard against too rapid a taper and minimize opioid withdrawal symptoms

I was impressed with the functionality and accuracy of the software. I have extensive experience in Electronic Medical Records and working with providers in navigating technology. . . This tool is not only a time saver but helps providers precisely prescribe medications which in return helps save many lives by preventing overdose.

Every doctor who manages opioid patients needs to have this powerful tool at his / her fingertips

Wow this product is fantastic!
In my personal experience I’ve encountered many patients that are suffering from drug addiction withdrawal because doctors just stop providing the patient with prescription drugs. Patients become violent and verbally aggressive.

Given our current opioid epidemic, this is a timely offering which should simplify the physicians and patients approach to tapering their dose and dependency on these medications

The goal of this project is not just to utilize the advancement of technology to ease patients and practitioners in prescription and medication processes, but ultimately prevent escalation of drug abuse, overdose, and the opioid epidemic.

A great tool for both practitioners and patients because it is so much more convenient and manageable. Patients don't have to worry about the frequencies and amount of medications that they have to intake everyday and they could have reminder notifications sent to their phones. Everything is just in one touch and they don't need any additional tools to help them except a phone in their pockets.

This application could impact millions of potential patients as well as those suffering with addiction right now

A great way to reduce opioid addiction - especially with technology being so heavily depended on in our daily lives. It seems very easy to use and would be very convenient for physicians. I find it best to create ways to prevent a problem from occurring [rather] than to fix it after it has already been done.

I like the ease of use and streamlined performance of the Reducere application. The fact that there is also a donation for alternative options of treatment just ads to the initial credibility / attractiveness of this approach.

There is definitely an unmet need in the market for this as health care providers realize the importance of this issue and how it can adversely affect them and their patients.

The ability for physicians to have a convenient tool that is easy to use and the fact that the data can be integrated with EMR and protects the physician from a liability standpoint are important benefits. Automatic ceiling dose limits included in the process adds to the physician confidence level knowing that they are safely within an acceptable range.

I am very familiar with the opioid epidemic, and I truly appreciate your approach to lessening it

Your solution is very intriguing and a passion of mine after losing too many young adults to overdose, whom I knew very well in my local community over the last two years.

Reducere [provides] the physicians a simple, accurate plan to support their patients tapering off their medications. I appreciate the long term focus on any pharmaceutical that should not be terminated abruptly.

I personally know of several families that have been affected with the opioid crises, and commend your for your role in helping to alleviate it.

a very interesting and committed start-up

I love the app, and I agree that this should be a huge focus considering how many people suffer from opioid dependency. The interface looks great, very user friendly.

First impression! This is very timely and will truly impact and promote positive change in individuals.

This seems like a very well thought out approach to helping people taper their opioid use while also helping clinicians better understand how to effectively prescribe it.

This is a worthy and much-needed mission

Practitioners can now. . .

✓ safely transition patients to opioid-free status

✓ create easy-to-follow tapering schedules that promote patient compliance

✓  prepare a fully detailed opioid titrating schedule including interval dates and dosing quantities for the taper until the patient is opioid-free

✓ confidently follow state and federal opioid prescribing guidelines

✓  precisely take into account limits on medications with ceiling doses such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen

✓ effortlessly share the opioid titration schedule with nurses, patients, patients' caretaker / family, other practitioners, or in the EMR

✓ accomplish in 20 seconds what would take 50 hours a year, saving $7,812.50 annually

Problem

Primary care and other practitioners do not currently have an accurate reference point to prescribe opioid dependent patients a proper tapering schedule.

"46 people die every day from
overdoses involving prescription opioids"

- MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep, December 2018

This results in the primary care practitioner becoming stuck in a cycle continuing to indefinitely prescribe opioids or awaiting referrals to one the few available pain centers for guidance.

"Overdose deaths involving prescription opioids
were five times higher in 2016 than in 1999"

- American Journal of Public Health, March 2018

In a political climate where doctors are being prosecuted for prescribing opioids, a better solution is needed immediately.
